Grossenbacher Pro Guide harness

The Grossenbacher ProGuide harness is one of the best all-rounder harnesses we have come across. It is similar in design to the Fun Run harness, but in addition it offers a front d-ring option that allows gentle redirection if your dog pulls on the leash, as well as a unique double-girth set up for escape artists! Grossenbacher's intelligent design means that the dog is not constricted during redirection, nor are the shoulders blocked in a way that is detrimental to health. It can therefore be used both as a training harness and as an everyday harness.

The ProGuide offers full freedom of movement for all activities. The shoulder and elbow joints are always free and the dog can move without restriction. It is made of a light and flexible fabric that does not show any pressure points and does not chafe. Thanks to the ergonomic cut, the belly straps can be adjusted such that the dog does not feel any pressure on the spine. Grossenbacher uses high-quality, sturdy buckles that can withstand heavy loads.

The two girth straps can be independently adjusted but there is only one buckle on each side. This is a unique variation on a double girth harness and a great option for keeping your dog secure during training or on daily walks.

This harness has three connection points: a standard ring at the back of the harness, a front ring on the chest and an additional ring near the back of the neck (the 'first' ring). We recommend using the standard back ring for everyday activities. The front ring may be used temporarily for training; we suggest a double-ended lead so the single point of contact is not the front ring. The ring at the back of the neck can also be used for training or if you need to keep your dog close to you. You can also use a double-ended lead when using this 'first' ring.

There is a handle on the back (situated front to back) so you can briefly grab it to hold your dog. (Size 3XS has no handle as standard.)

These harnesses run on the larger side so please consult the size chart; don't simply get a size small because that's what size usually fits your dog in other gear.

NB. Grossenbacher harnesses are sized by breed and weight, not by girth measurement. (The girth straps on Grossenbacher harnesses generally have a large range of adjustment.) The best way to get the correct size for your dog is to come into the fitting studio and try them on. If you order online you may need to exchange if the first size you purchase isn't quite right.

Backorders / Custom Orders
Backorders are accepted on non-limited edition items.
The wait for backorders and custom orders can be up to 3 or sometimes even 4 months.
Custom orders cannot be returned/exchanged (except as per Australian Consumer Law). Please ensure you know what size will fit by coming into the fitting studio and trying them on your dog if possible, so you are not disappointed when a custom order can't be exchanged.
When placing an order for a custom harness, please include your requested base colour and the edge colour in the order notes. We will then check and confirm your order and advise the ETA.
The standard sizes we offer are 5XS up to L. Other sizes (10XS to 3XL) can be ordered on request - please contact us if you would like to order a size that is not in the drop down list.

Online orders that include backorders and/or custom orders are shipped when all items included your purchase are available to be shipped together. If you would like an in stock item to be shipped sooner, please place separate orders.
We emphasise again: custom orders cannot be exchanged or returned. When you place an order for a custom harness you are agreeing that the item cannot be changed/returned/exchanged.
